Pros and Cons of Each Social Media Platform for Wedding Planning

Couples planning a wedding in today's age have access to inspiration - dare we say - overload thanks to the likes of Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and more.

Through social media, couples also have access to unlimited inspiration for virtually every wedding detail and a bounty of information and opinions (for better or for worse). This combination can be risky, causing couples to stress about how their wedding compares to others and how it will rate on social media.

On the flip side, social media has greatly enhanced the wedding planning experience making it possible for couples and wedding industry brands to connect on a more personal level. And thanks to the public and candid nature of social media, couples can gain valuable first-hand insight on wedding destinations, venues, vendors, and more!

Before you get overwhelmed with social media wedding planning tools, read our latest collaboration for Wedding Wire by Jenn Sinrich on the Pros and Cons of Each Social Media Platform for Wedding Planning.

We recommend that couples assess the pros and cons of each social media platform before planning and be cognizant of which platforms will be best for them not only in the short term, but also the long term. Our hope is that couples leverage social media positively for inspiration and ideas taking the best concepts to enhance, and not change, their own authentic wedding vision.
